We want all newcomers to have an enjoyable and rewarding experience at their first RIPE Meeting. For this reason, we have arranged some extra activities, especially for first time attendees. This is to help them learn more about the RIPE community and to introduce them to RIPE Meeting week.
Mentoring Programme
The RIPE Meeting Mentoring programme matches experienced community members with newcomers.
Newcomers’ Introduction
When: Friday, 14 May
Time: 16:00 to 17:00 (UTC+2)
Where: Meetecho
This session is for anyone who would like to know more about the RIPE community, the RIPE NCC and RIPE Meetings. It can also be a useful refresher for past attendees.

- Everything you need to know about RIPE 82
The presentation is given by Mirjam Kühne, the RIPE Chair, but you will e-meet other key people during the session:

We will use Kahoot! during the session to play a quiz and you can win a RIPE 82 T-shirt!
Download the Kahoot app and keep your phone ready or go to Kahoot.it! We recommend taking the quiz on your phone so you can use your computer screen to view the questions and answer as quickly as possible.
Have your RIPE Meeting registration number at hand, and make sure you include your registration number in your nickname while logging into Kahoot (How will we send you prizes otherwise?). Your registration number is in your RIPE 82 registration confirmation email.
Newcomers’ Social and Mentors/Mentees Meet up

Time: 17:00 to 19:00 (UTC+2)

Right after the Introduction Talk, the Meet & Greet Team invites you to an informal virtual event. This event will give you the opportunity to meet with other first-time attendees, RIPE Working Group Chairs, RIPE NCC staff and key people from the RIPE community.
Meet & Greet Team and Sessions
The Meet & Greet team are a group of RIPE NCC staff who will be available for you to reach out to if you would like to know more about the Meeting, the RIPE Community and the RIPE NCC. You can get in touch with them before and during the meeting using the email meet-greet [at] ripe [dot] net.
During RIPE 82, the Meet & Greet team will be available in the M&G room on SpatialChat from Monday to Thursday, during the lunch break (12:00 to 13:00 UTC+2).
In these sessions, you can meet other newcomers, share your thoughts on how your week is going, ask any questions that you might have or just have a chat with the Meet & Greet team.
